My friend Bernard had a simple question: Can you make a LED head for my scooter?
Sure and by the way I will do a complete electronics for it.... Thats the way things started.

Very nice page from plongeesanssel that show the original Premeco "militair" scooter

Aims: more power, more light and lasting much longer:

Bernard refurbished the old scooter and gave it new seeling and colour.

Next I needed was a device to test the propulsion chain with real burden.
MeScoot_B_026.jpg
MeScoot_B_026_t.jpg

According to the motor plate I expected ca. 300 Watt power consumption. I meassured more than 1500 Watt !!
As result the motor shaft broke after 5 minutes while doing a temperature load test. Sh..t
The shaft was repaired by a friend of mine, a real magician. New shaft has 10 instead of 7 mm diameter.

Additionally I changed electronics design. Now the motor is current regulated and that way restricted to max 1000 Watts.

The electronic is controlled by a Atmel ATMEGA32. That way all kind of behaviour is modifiable later on. ( see handbook MeScoot B Handbook.pdf )

Here the finished device. It opens in the middle. On the right side contains battery and led.
The left side motor and most of the electronics. Motor side is closed by a sealed plate. Easy connect by one plug.
